Kate Powell and Ezell Williams—the personal styling team at Hudson Yards—are taking full advantage of both the glorious autumn weather and the variety of fun spots in and around The Shops & Restaurants. Of course, they make sure to put their fashion know-how to good use wherever they go, donning something perfect, and perfectly distinct, for each stop. Certain that many of you aspire to do the same, they’ve shared some curated looks to revitalize your dress sense.
Making your own mark among the works of Nigerian artist Jacqueline Suowari—whose medium is ballpoint pen!—at the expanded Avant Gallery takes a pop of color and a standout shoe. Ezell says something like this will do the trick: a luxe mohair cardigan, ultra-soft leggings and mini bucket bag, and a pair of flashy platinum pumps.
Without a doubt, the best way to end a good day is to begin a great night. And many great nights start at Milos’ Wine Bar, where you can choose from 100 hand-selected Greek wines by the glass, as you relax amid a casual vibe. Ezell offers two options that will fit right in: an on-trend shacket (aptly named Folliage Plaide Sugarcoat) or a hooded vest and leather jacket. Either one pairs well with a wide-brimmed fedora.
The neighborhood has so many ways to work out the week’s kinks: family and kids’ yoga, dance cardio classes at The Limit, Equinox …. Whichever route you choose, Kate says you can feel stylish as you sweat in an athleisure set that can also carry you through brunch, especially if you layer it with a cute vest and jacket.
This is the best time of year to enjoy open-air outings and nowhere is that more true than in The Public Square & Gardens, with its Movie Nights, Big Screen sports, food trucks and the just-opened Jibs. For any of these outside hangs, Kate recommends some casual luxury, say, a cashmere hoodie, cropped leather pants and lug sole boots.
