Related Companies and Hudson Yards Partner with NYC Pride and The NAMES Project Foundation for WorldPride

The Shops and Restaurants will show their support for the community through special initiatives, events and limited edition products benefiting LGBTQIA+ causes

NEW YORK, NY - June 21, 2019 – Today Related Companies and Hudson Yards unveiled their partnership with NYC Pride and The NAMES Project Foundation during WorldPride in honor the history of the LGBTQIA+ community and to remember the 50^th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. From June 21^st to July 1^st, Hudson Yards will display nine panels of The Aids Memorial Quilt along with a new piece, commissioned by Hudson Yards, from Artist and Queer/Art, the non-profit art organization, Mentee Zoe Schlacter in The Great Room at The Shops and Restaurants overlooking Vessel.

The installation at Hudson Yards is part of a larger initiative to work with community leaders and display panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in public spaces to educate about the history of the quilts, as well as raise awareness about the AIDS pandemic and the impact of the disease. Established in 1987, The NAMES Project Foundation, Inc. is the international, non-governmental, 501(c)(3) organization that is the custodian of The AIDS Memorial Quilt and its associated document and media archive. Their mission is to preserve, care for, and use the AIDS Memorial Quilt to foster healing, heighten awareness, and inspire action in the struggle against HIV and AIDS.

At The Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards, Artist Tom Fruin’s re-interpretation of the iconic Brooklyn Water Tower sculpture in collaboration with the Avant Gallery is on display on Level 1 now through July 15^th. L’Oreal USA, a tenant of 10 Hudson Yards, will debut a GIF booth as part of their “March for Me” campaign in celebration of WorldPride. Stop by on June 21^st or June 22^nd and submit your photo or video for a chance to be featured on their float during the official NYC PRIDE march on June 30^th.

Rosemary Square celebrates “Love is Love” with the “Love Wall” by local Artist Jeni Lacata from The Armory Arts Center in West Palm Beach, while the Harriet Himmel Theater hosts the 18^th Annual Stonewall Black & White Ball on June 22^nd organized by the Compass Community Center. This special night benefits Compass Community Center and celebrates the important contributions of this year’s honorees who work hard to empower the LGBTQIA+ community.

The Shops at Columbus Circle will display their “Love Wall” by Famed Street Artist JGoldcrown located at the main entrance. Guests can also pick up a complementary pin designed by the artist from Guest Services. Jazz at Lincoln Center will host the world-premiere of STONEWALL, part of New York City Opera’s annual PRIDE Series from June 21^st to June 28^th.
