HUDSON YARDS PUBLIC SPACE CODE OF CONDUCT

Hudson Yards has been designed and built for the use and enjoyment of our residential and commercial tenants and occupants, as well as by members of the public in certain designated areas.

Hudson Yards is privately owned and all public space in Hudson Yards is private property.

Hudson Yards is open to the public daily between 6AM – 1AM.

To protect our residential and commercial occupants and visitors, and to ensure the public has a safe and pleasant experience while visiting Hudson Yards, this Code of Conduct applies to all areas in which it is posted.

Under this Code of Conduct, the following activities are not permitted:

  • Public Space Obstruction, e.g., camping and/or the erection of tents or other structures. Lying down on the ground, or lying down on the public sitting areas or walkways so as to interfere with the use of the public sitting areas or walkways by others. The placement of tarps, sleeping bags or other coverings on the property, for any purpose. Storing or placing personal property on the ground, public sitting areas or walkways or other designated public areas so as to interfere with the use of areas by others.
  • Unauthorized Expressive Conduct, e.g., engaging in any non-commercial expressive activity, or protest of any kind, with or without use of a megaphone, microphone, noise maker or any other sound reproduction device without the prior consent of Management as defined below in this Code of Conduct.
  • Unauthorized Commercial Activity, e.g., soliciting money or other contributions or donations or distributing commercial advertising or promotional material of any kind, including (but not limited to) selling items or making any such items available either for sale or in exchange for a donation or contribution or consideration of any kind, except with the prior consent of Management as defined below in this Code of Conduct.
  • Photography or Videotaping, of the property or the operations at Hudson Yards, by any means (e.g., camera shoots, drones). However, Management welcomes photography of friends and family in public areas.
  • Smoking, Vaping or use of Illegal or Controlled Substances.
  • Carrying or Making Use of, Firearms (including replicas), or any object that could be or may be intended to be used as a weapon.
  • Alcoholic Beverages, except in designated areas.
  • Disruptive Conduct or Behavior likely to provoke a disturbance or infringe on the rights or peace of other patrons including apparel, gestures, obscenities, slurs based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or ethnicity, sexually explicit language or excessive noise or music, littering, damaging, defacing or abusing the building, artwork, landscaping or other structure or property.
  • Failing to be Fully Clothed, including not wearing shirt and shoes.
  • Congregating and/or Hindering the routine flow of patrons, including obstructing entryways or creating a disturbance or safety hazard.
  • Unsafe Activity, e.g., using skateboards, rollerblades, Segways/Hover boards, cycles of any kind (except in designated areas), sitting or leaning on planters, tables, trash receptacles, railings, steps and escalators or elevators.
  • Removing of Items from Trash or Recycling Receptacles.
  • Unattended Baggage, which shall be subject to search and seizure.
  • Unleashed or Unattended Animals.
  • Failure to Observe the Hours of Operations, including the failure to leave the property promptly at the close of business or as otherwise directed by security personnel.
  • Violating any Federal, State, or Local Law Ordinance.

Management reserves the right to ask any person or persons who violate(s) this Hudson Yards Code of Conduct to leave the property. Failure to comply with any such request shall constitute criminal trespassing and shall be subject to all appropriate legal or others penalties.

“Prior Consent of Management”, as used in this Code of Conduct, requires that any person who seeks consent to engage in any prohibited or unauthorized activity must make such request (A) in writing at the Management Office located at 20 Hudson Yards, New York, New York and (B) at least seven (7) business days prior to the date of the activity requested.

Management reserves the right to amend, modify, alter, and/or add to the Hudson Yards Code of Conduct at any time for any reason, with or without public notice, provided however the Hudson Yards Code of Conduct in effect may be found at the Management Office.

Management will make all reasonable efforts to keep publicly posted versions of the Hudson Yards Code of Conduct current.
