Taco Series at Oyamel

Oyamel is launching a new taco series that invites fellow chefs, restaurants, and creative partners to celebrate this beloved staple of Mexican cuisine. Every month, Oyamel will feature a special edition taco to celebrate cultural exchange, creativity, and the shared language of food across cultures. 

Kicking off the series in January, Oyamel will debut its first collaboration with the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB™, translating the spirit of Cuban music and culture into one delicious, limited-time taco. Taking inspiration from Cuba’s classic dish, ropa vieja, the Chan Chan taco features arroz con habichuelas, crema de plátano, and cilantro, a nod to the foundational flavors of Cuban cooking, from slow-braised, deeply savory meats to comforting rice and beans balanced by subtle sweetness and freshness. Inspired by the rhythms, stories, and soul of Havana celebrated in the hit musical, the collaboration connects the stage and the kitchen through a shared sense of tradition, artistry, and cultural storytelling.
