Hudson Yards Announces Fast-Casual Additions To Collection

The Hudson Yards Dining Collection Welcomes Concepts Including Bluestone Lane, Van Leeuwen, Fuku and Jack’s Stir Brew, Amongst Others

NEW YORK, NY – December 4, 2018 – Hudson Yards today announces the latest additions of fast-casual and grab-and-go culinary experiences to the neighborhood’s dining and beverage offerings. Newly announced partners include celebrated coffee roasters and cafés Bluestone Lane, Jack’s Stir Brew, Maison Kayser and Blue Bottle Coffee; Momofuku’s fried chicken concept Fuku, and beloved ice cream brand Van Leeuwen. Each concept will feature a menu item or offering that can only be experienced at Hudson Yards. The Hudson Yards dining and beverage collection, co-curated by Chef Thomas Keller and Related Urban President and CEO and restaurateur Kenneth A. Himmel, is an esteemed and diverse group of more than two dozen restaurant, food and bar concepts in Manhattan’s newest neighborhood, opening in March 2019.

“We are excited to unveil these latest additions to the dining collection which will further enhance the 24-hour culinary experience at Hudson Yards,” said Kenneth A. Himmel, restaurateur and President and CEO of Related Urban, the mixed-use division of Related Companies. “From a strong cup of coffee in the morning, to a quick treat in the afternoon, to a celebratory meal at night, our diverse range of culinary offerings will provide a comprehensive and complementary dining experience for residents, employees, locals and visitors alike.”

Australian-influenced hospitality and lifestyle brand Bluestone Lane will open a uniquely designed for Hudson Yards concept with its first location to offer a walk-up coffee bar, seated café and dedicated catering services. The full Bluestone Lane menu will be available for dine-in, to go or catering preorder, offering tenants the opportunity to elevate their lunchtime meeting in any capacity. A seasonal menu includes grain bowls, salads, and an expansive toast and sandwich offering, including the brand’s famous Avocado Smash. Additionally, the full Bluestone Lane premium coffee and wellness beverage program will be available. The 1,600-square-foot space will be located on the third floor of the Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards.

“Hudson Yards is a perfect fit for Bluestone Lane, and we are thrilled to be a part of this iconic neighborhood,” said Nicholas Stone, Bluestone Lane Founder & CEO. “We’re excited to meet our fellow tenants and to introduce Bluestone Lane’s signature Aussie-style coffee and healthy café fare to Hudson Yards.”

Jack’s Stir Brew, known for differentiating itself as New York’s leading health and wellness coffee shop, will open two new locations in Hudson Yards. A walk-up coffee bar concept will be located on the fourth floor of the Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards, occupying an 840-square-foot space, and the second location will open on the ground level of 30 Hudson Yards. Both locations will look to create a destination of relaxation and refueling for guests in the midst of their busy day-to-day lives.

“Our priority at Jack’s is always the community, and that’s why we are so excited about opening in the Hudson Yards neighborhood,” said Jack’s Stir Brew founder Jack Mazzola. “New Yorkers, as a population, are constantly on-the-go and overstimulated. We view it as our job to create an environment and unique set of offerings that will help our friends make the most out of each and every day that they spend in Hudson Yards.”

Also helping to keep Hudson Yards’ residents and visitors caffeinated will be the beloved Blue Bottle Coffee. Founded by James Freeman in Oakland, California in 2002, Blue Bottle is now a network of cafés in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., Boston, Miami and Japan. Blue Bottle will expand its growing footprint with a new location in the Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards. As the brand continues to successfully expand, it still remains united by the simple purpose of sourcing and roasting the world’s best, most sustainable coffees and serving them at peak deliciousness.

Located on the ground floor of 55 Hudson Yards, adjacent to Hudson Park, Maison Kayser will offer the experience of an authentic French Parisian Bakery and Café. World renowned Chef Eric Kayser will bring the acclaimed quality of its artisanal breads, pastries and croissants, as well as premium sandwiches, salads, French classic fares, and European-style coffee. Guests are encouraged to dine in the fine-casual setting or in the nearby outdoor spaces of Hudson Yards. Maison Kayser will also provide expansive catering services to the neighborhood’s tenants.

CEO of Maison Kayser USA Louis-Jean Egasse said, “Hudson Yards is bringing a new and unique live, work, shop and dine experience that we are proud to be part of.”

Another sweet addition is Van Leeuwen, opening on the third floor of the Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards. The 650-square-foot space designed by Carpenter + Mason will serve the brand’s signature natural vegan and classic flavors, as well as an only at Hudson Yards flavor. Founded in New York City in 2008, Van Leeuwen classic and vegan ice creams are made simply with just a handful of fresh ingredients. Each flavor is a celebration of some of the world’s best artisan producers and farmers both local and from around the world.

Adds founder Ben Van Leeuwen, “Hudson Yards is a community space unlike anything New York City has ever seen. We are thrilled to be able to serve our delicious vegan and classic ice creams there.”

Momofuku’s fried chicken concept Fuku will span 1,200 square feet on the second floor of the Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards. Originally launched as a fried chicken sandwich shop in 2015, Fuku has grown to serve a variety of chicken offerings, along with slushies and seasonal items, and will be an ideal option for Hudson Yards residents and guests on the go. Additionally, David Chang, Momofuku chef and founder will open a Momofuku restaurant in Hudson Yards with executive chef Eunjo “Jo” Park. The restaurant will span over 5,000 square feet on the fifth floor of the Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards and will feature a takeaway option in addition to the main restaurant concept.

“The team is thrilled to be joining the Hudson Yards community,” says Fuku Executive Chef Stephanie Abrams. “We’re humbled to be in the company of so many other great restaurants and brands. We’re really looking forward to bringing some Fuku flavor to the emerging neighborhood.”

These concepts will be complemented by family-run Citarella Gourmet Markets, which will be opening its eighth location with a brand new concept for the brand at Citarella Hudson Yards. The new 10,500-square-foot market will include the best seafood, meat, chef-prepared foods and pastries as well as Citarella wine and spirits. Citarella Hudson Yards will also feature a new model for the company, offering options such as steamed lobsters, a raw bar and grilled whole fish, showcasing the brand’s seafood expertise.

Many of the neighborhood’s retail concepts will also feature food and beverage offerings in-store, adding to the diversity and excitement of the collection. Additionally, fast-casual salad chain Sweetgreen opened at 10 Hudson Yards in August 2018.

Many of the offerings of the Hudson Yards dining collection will be housed in the one-million-square-foot Shops & Restaurants, anchored by New York City’s first Neiman Marcus. The expanded dining collection throughout the 28-acre neighborhood will also include establishments at 35 Hudson Yards and 50 Hudson Yards. Additional cafés and fast-casual selections will be available at 10 Hudson Yards, 50 Hudson Yards and 55 Hudson Yards, offering a wide array of options to those who live, work and visit the neighborhood. Hudson Yards’ forthcoming dining concepts also include Belcampo, Hudson Yards Grill, Citarella Hudson Yards, a Momofuku restaurant concept, José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup and brothers Ferran and Albert Adrià’s Mercado Little Spain, a 35,000-square-foot Spanish Market; TAK Room from Thomas Keller Restaurant Group; Estiatorio Milos from Chef Costas Spiliadis; as well as concepts from UK-based rhubarb and D&D London, and more.
