Whether you are a full-time vegan or just like to sample the latest plant-based food every now and then, Hudson Yards is serving up something tasty— from grab-and-go to fine dining — that you are sure to love.
Power Breakfasts
Jack’s Stir Brew is known for its wide range of vegan treats. Order a banana or blueberry muffin with your morning cup of coffee. If you’re looking for something a little more substantial, it’s down to Ana Bar & Eatery, where the vegan Belgian waffle or a coconut yogurt and granola will fill you up. One level up, Bluestone Lane has a couple of plant-based smoothies, protein vanilla and PB & blueberry, and several others can be made vegan by holding the honey. Also delicious: a chia pudding with almond butter, overnight oats and almond oatmeal.
Soups and Sandwiches
For a quick grab and go, look to Pret a Manger’s vegan menu with its mezze salad, Moroccan lentil and super greens soups, rainbow veggie sandwich and sunshine bowl. Options at Mercado Little Spain’s Kiosks include delicious classics like gazpacho and pan con tomate. Ana Bar & Eatery offers salads too— kale, avocado and tomato, and more. And Bluestone Lane is serving up its iconic Avocado Smash (hold the feta) and a banana or peanut butter and berry toast (hold the honey).
Something More Substantial
Ana Bar & Eatery really delivers here too, with a market-table menu that includes soba or zucchini noodles and crispy salt and pepper tofu. Meanwhile, at Miznon, the Mediterranean street food spot, you can enjoy its world-famous, roasted cauliflower—on a plate or in the lavan pita—accompanied by tahini, tomato salsa and spicy green peppers.
“Steak” and Other Sit-Downs
Electric Lemon, in the Equinox Hotel, offers a variety of garden-inspired starters plus tofu with tahini, zucchini and mint. Greywind is a plant-focused venue with a menu of vegan options like rotisserie cauliflower with pickled apricots, chilies and mint. For a different take on that vegetable, try the blackened cauliflower steak at O’Toole’s Way, which comes with quinoa couscous and cherry tomatoes. Craving Japanese? At Kamasu, you can get a miso soup, avocado roll or a sunomono futomaki, featuring avocado tartare and pickled cucumber, ginger and wasabi, is sure to satisfy. Or if you can tear yourself away from the incredible views, Peak’s purple sweet potato with cabbage, shiitake and Carolina rice will surely hit the spot.
Dream Desserts
Strawberry Shortcake, Mint Chip, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough…there are just a few of the vegan flavors available at Van Leeuwen. For a chocolate hit, Li-Lac’s 72% dark chocolate is dairy free and includes options like Dipped Glacé Peaches and Almond Bark.
